RIM Finally giving Devs A Shot at BlackBerry 10? Blog assingment 3/25/12

In my opinion RIM’s BlackBerry was edged out of the mobile OS market years ago. Today Android and IOS are the two heavy hitters in the smart phone world and Window’s Mango OS has emerged as the minority third choice  for those seeking something a bit different. BlackBerry’s final attempt at relevancy is almost here. Their new OS, BlackBerry 10 will be put in the hands of Developers in May an then pushed out to the public later in the year. Do you think this final push will be enough to bring back RIM, this blogger doubts it. Sound off below.

ICS Guide for Customers 3/20/2012 blog assignmnet

For those who did not succumb to Samsung/ Google’s  “Galaxy Nexus” Phone in December which came bundled with  the delicious and long awaited Ice Cream Sandwich  OS, it is finally time for you to get your hands sticky too. Google has already started to roll out the ICS update to other phones, and as always Google and Samsung phones get priority, the first being the “Galaxy S II” If you  haven’t already received the OTA update for your Galaxy device yet, expect it by the end of the month. In the meanwhile why not gaze over this  ICS instruction manual that the nice people over at  “Cool Smart Phone” threw together?  Ahhh, it seems like just yesterday the  delicious and freshly baked “Gingerbread” OS was being rolled out to the Galaxy S, and to think that this time next year Google and Samsung will be teaming up to release Android 5.0 Jellybean. As always sound off in the comment section below.

How Would You Change the Nook Tablet? 3/19/2012 blog assignment

It is relatively easy to make  comparisons between the Nook Tablet and the Kindle Fire.  What makes doing so easier and more relative, is that Barnes & Noble and Amazon  are behind these beautiful 7-inch e-reader tablet hybrids. When first released, this one was $50 more expensive, but also more impressive  as far as its OS goes. Statistically, 3 out of every 10 e-book readers purchased were nooks so there are obviously a lot of you out there that use this product. Here is my question(s)

  1.   What made you choose this tablet/e-reader over the kindle fire?
  2. If you did buy this product, what suggestions would you make to improve it?

Quad Core Chip Inside Galaxy S III? 3/19/2012 blog assignment

Anyone who follows consumer electronics, knows that hard hitting giant, Samsung left a very special guest off the party list  of two major recent  consumer electronic events.   Although Samsung made waves with the announcements of the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, the Galaxy Note 10.1 and many  new smart phones at both CES and MWC, there was no news of the next generation of their flagship phone, the Galaxy S 3.

Samsung released an official statement  stating that they would be holding their own event, just for the announcement of the Galaxy S 3 which is rumored to be one of the first phones to feature a quad core exynos chip.  no one knows the exact specs of the phone yet, but other rumors are mentioning both a 4.3 mp front facing camera, and an 8 mp rear facing camera. Sound off in the comment section below.
